Study Tour #4

Header

Back home after 36 Days, 12,500 kilometres, 1725 litres of diesel, more than 1800 photographs and too many new experiences to mention.

This tour has been an education in many respects: geography, geology, wildlife, climate, history and relationships. It will therefore take some time to assimilate and sort out my thoughts and photographs.

The initial focus of this will be around the theme of the tour – the interactions between the natural and built environments. I have a suspicion that the outcome of this will be further research before I draw any significant conclusions.

In the meantime, the attached photographs present an cross section of the diversity of the tour.

The header image is of Geikie Gorge, formed by the Fitzroy River.

The first image is part of an old pearling boat on display in Broome, famous for its pearl industry.

Next is of part of the breath-taking Breakaways in the vicinity of Coober Pedy.

Finally, the highlight of my trip – the Bungle Bungles from the air.
